Research interests

I am interested in the interdisciplinary area of computer vision, graphics, and machine learning, in particular the capture and modeling of facial expressions and human motion and their applications to computer animation, HCI, and communications.

Projects

Cartoon Retarget - automatically tracks non-rigid shapes in cartoons, and retargeted onto drawings, 3-D models, digital photographs or live-action video....

Facial Animation - creating facial animation using a combination of motion capture data and blendshape interpolation....

 

Expression space - separating video data into expressive features and underlying content. This allows, for example, a sequence originally recorded with a happy expression to be modified so that the speaker appears to be speaking with an angry or neutral expression.....

Sketching Interface - a new interface for rapidly creating 3D articulated figure animation, from 2D sketches of the character in the desired key frame poses.
