Assignment 4: Architecture and InteriorsEsther Vigil: B&W Offices
focal length: 23mm This photo meets the requirement of a vertical vanishing point. The greatest challenge in choosing the settings for this photo was finding an aperture and shutter speed to get all of the shapes in focus and get proper lighting on the bright glass and on the dark beams; in retrospect, I might have tried an even slower shutter speed to increase the brightness of the reflections. I chose these offices as a subject because I liked the way the smooth glass was transformed by the patterns it reflected and the way the glass distorted the reflections of the bars above. I used some layering in PS to improve the already strong symmetry of the picture, to crop the picture, and to apply a B&W filter to create even greater emphasis on the shapes and lines of the picture.
