CS 348C Software
CS 348C - Modeling in Computer
Graphics
Fall quarter, 1995
Coordinator: Apostolos Lerios
Class software includes the following:
- polly: a simple custom program
that allows the students to visualize and manipulate parametric
polynomial curves in space.
- scurvy: a simple custom program
that allows the students to visualize and manipulate B-spline curves
in space.
- SoftImage: the SoftImage package
contains a large collection of executables, from a production quality modeling and
animation system, to a ray
tracer, a particle system
simulator, and standalone
utilities for image compositing, format conversions, and much
more.
- quatdemo: an interactive tool
for demonstrating the composition of unit quaternions and how they
represent rotations.
- vwtree: a simple tree
creation and rendering software. The distribution of vwtree
available here can only execute on Silicon Graphics workstations, and
includes on-line documentation and sample input files. Also, it is a
scaled down version of the system documented in Weber, Jason, and Joseph Penn. Creation and Rendering of Realistic
Trees. Proceedings of SIGGRAPH '95: 119-128.
