First, the faculty will give an overview. Then, three of our more senior PhD students will summarize their dissertation projects. The order of people and topics will be: 1. Prof. Marc Levoy Research overview 2. Prof. Pat Hanrahan Research overview 3. Eric Veach Monte Carlo methods for illumination 4. Brian Curless Shape digitization using range scanners 5. Craig Kolb Digital camera models for graphics ---- 50 minutes *** New CS and EE students are especially invited to attend this lunch. We have many exciting projects going on, and we are looking for talented students for several of them. A catered lunch will be provided. A written introduction to our research group and a summary of the talks will be handed out. If you are unable to attend, copies will be available in Marc Levoy's office after the lunch. After the lunch, we will be running a tour of our research laboratory and giving demos. Demos will include: 1. Responsive Workbench (a VR device) 2. Cyberware laser range scanner
