Abstract:

COTS based visualization clusters are already moving from research prototypes to production visualization vehicles. This talk will discuss the current state of these systems together with their application and performance under the demands of production operation. Examples, will be taken from the Livermore MCR cluster and its visualization system, PVC. The specific application of these systems to datasets of the scale generated by systems like MCR will be described and used to highlight several current visualization challenges that these clusters are well positioned to address.
