Assignment 3: Macro Photography

This fulfills both requirement 1 and 3, focus on the foreground and bugs. I found this little guy in the cactus garden. It was in broad daylight, but I still had to up the ISO to get the aperture to 11.0. I probably could have handled a lower shutter speed, but oh well. I couldn't quite get the composition I wanted without stabbing myself or the lens on the cactus, so there was actually a bit of cloning and cropping done in photoshop.

I cloned out a spike from the upper right corner because I found it distracting and then cropped off some empty space on the right as well. I sharpened, then added two different textures, masking out the caterpillar from those layers.
