The Brook programming language is a joint research project with the Merrimac: Stanford Streaming Supercomputer project, funded by the Center for Integrated Turbulence Simulations, and the Stanford Smart Memories project, funded by DARPA. The PI's include Bill Dally and Mark Horowitz.

Brook for GPUs is an ongoing research project at the Stanford University Graphics Lab, which is funded by IBM, SONY, ATI, NVIDIA, DARPA, and DOE.
